Biggest Quake To Hit Japan - Pacific Tsunami Alert

Reports warn of a tsunami wave spreading across the Pacific Ocean after Japans largest known earthquake hit the Northeast coast, sending two tsunami waves crashing into the city of Sendai. The 8.9 earthquake has generated a tsunami that may reach 20 countries around the Pacific in the coming hours. The Telegraph.uk have quoted International Red Cross claims that the tsunami waves are higher than some Pacific Islands. They have warned the wave could wash over some Pacific islands.


Tsunami alerts have been sent to: Russia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras, Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru. The tsunami warning also extends to the entire U.S. West Coast.
